How I found Jasmine Sky Designs

I had to ask myself what kind of dress I really wanted and realized that I was wanting a dress with a mermaid silhouette but one that would be cool and comfortable enough for a beach setting. I started off by googling beach dresses and nothing caught my eye. I then became more specific and searched beach wedding dresses and a bunch of dresses showed up on Pinterest. I looked through those but still nothing really caught my eye. I then searched YouTube beach wedding dresses and a designer by the name of Jasmine Sky caught my eye. It was a beautiful mermaid inspired dress that was perfect! I contacted jasmine and my wedding dress journey began.

Working With Jasmine – What Her Process Is Like

Initially, I was skeptical because I rarely order over the internet but after some diligent detective work, I was convinced Jasmine was a real person. (lol) She had several positive reviews via the web. My next thought was how would I communicate all my concerns because I was in New York and Jasmine was in Florida.

Well, I finally got up the nerve to contact Jasmine and she responded very quickly and walked me through her process.

She immediately wanted to talk to me in order to get a feel for my personality and what I was looking for. I told her I was head strong on a dress with a mermaid silhouette because it was beautiful and I wanted to show some curves but I wanted to be “gone-with-the-wind fabulous!”. She asked me what I meant by this description and I said that I wanted a dress that would flow and flutter in the wind. She then explained to me that a mermaid silhouetted dress wouldn’t do that and that I was asking for the dress to fit and hug my curves but I also wanted it to flow and flutter – in short, I wanted two dresses in one!!

Once, I realize what I was saying, she asked me, “What is the most important thing that you want to express with your dress?” I told her I wanted a sexy, romantic dress that will blow in the wind.

The Dress I Chose

Well, after a few other questions from the detailed questionnaire, Jasmine knew just what I was wanting and came up with a suggestion.

She introduced me to Veronica, a beautiful simplistic dress with bell sleeves. Once I saw a photo of it, I knew that Veronica was my dress!! I said, “Yes! That’s exactly what I want!” I was extremely happy.

Once we nailed down which dress I wanted, it was time for measurements. I had to email measurements to her (which she provided excellent instructions for) and once that was done, we were on our way to the production stage.

Jasmine always kept me abreast as to what stage of the production she was in, either via text or email. It was a different experience for me because I had never communicated long distance with someone for something that was so important and meaningful to me. I trusted Jasmine and I knew I was in good hands.

Receiving & Meeting My Dress for the First Time

Once the dress was finished, I received the confirmation in the mail and I picked it up. I expected a huge box (I don’t know why) but it was a simple light weight box. I thought, “Oh no! She forgot something!”

When I got home, I made a big production out of opening it, Skyping my friend on my ipad so she could be there with me.

It was the prettiest material I had ever seen – I was almost scared to touch it! The packaging was awesome and she included a hand written thank you card as well as some extra goodies and instructions for how to put the dress on and the different ways that I could wear the dress.Trinette8

I was a little confused at first about the instructions until I actually opened the dress and laid it across my bed. I was so amazed at her design – it was a square and the opening was at the top.

Once I was in the dress, it fell and draped beautifully over my body. I was so pleased that all my worries evaporated into thin air. The material was so soft against my skin and it just flowed so softly and easily around my body. I couldn’t believe how so romantic and pretty it was!

Wearing It for “The Big Day”

Wearing it on my wedding day was perfect and the photographer loved the dress so much that we decided to take extra pictures down at the beach because he loved the way it  blew in the wind.  I had so many compliments on my dress.  I absolutely loved it.

In Closing…

I am going to have Jasmine paint it in the near future but for now, I am just enjoying my beautiful dress.
